Two Blocks to Waterfront

The George Brooks House is a comfortable bed and breakfast in St. Michaels, Maryland on 8 acres just 1/2 mile outside of town.  The setting is pastoral - deer grazing and much quieter than the inns in town.  We have 8 speed bikes to explore the town or this area, including the eight-mile trip to the ferry landing at Bellevue.  The Oxford/Bellevue ferry departs about every 20 minutes for the one mile crossing of the Tred Avon River to the beautiful and historic village of Oxford - home to the circa 1710 Robert Morris Inn (oldest colonial tavern still serving food and beverages) and the outstanding Scottish  Highland Creamery with top rated ice cream on the Eastern Shore.

In the last 50 years, St. Michaels has become a
major destination for boaters and travelers in the Mid-Atlantic area, thanks to St. Michaels' many fine retail shops, marinas and restaurants. Because we're on the outskirts of town, you can relax in a peaceful setting while also being able to explore all that St. Michaels has to offer.

Reviews

"We stayed at this B&B during the 2023 St. Michaels Run Festival.  It's proximity to the event and city social life was perfect.  We enjoyed the spacious rooms and our private porch.  We did use the Jacuzzi after our run and boy was it needed.  His recommendations  regarding parking and restaurants was spot on.  He was very helpful and professional . . . and just a nice guy.  We have every intention to stay there again."    May 2023

"We chose this Inn because we like to travel with our large dog and we find that innkeepers who welcome dogs are few and far between. Not so here! There's one designated room here for pets.

The pool was a lovely place to relax after a day spent out and about. Breakfasts were delicious, and we felt very safe with all the COVID precautions put into place. All in all, a very lovely stay and we hope to come back!"

"George Brooks House was a 5* from the first phone call. What a wonderful, friendly and warm accommodations we found at GBH.  Their great price point and incredibly helpful over-the-phone commination led me to make the booking.  Boy, are we glad we did!.
The house was clean, quiet, warm and enchanting!  The furniture was gorgeous and the decor was classic and timeless. I didn't see anything "run-down" or in disarray."   November 2022

Our Other Inn

We also own the Parsonage Inn (circa 1883) at the northwest end of the National Historic District. A stunning brick Victorian with beautiful chimneys, steeple and various brick inlays with Eastlake style trim on the porches. Henry Clay Dodson owned the St. Michaels brick yard at the end of North Street (c: 1877) and this house was the "showplace" for exquisite brick detailing.

This inn provides eight guest bedrooms with private bathrooms along with a parlor, dining room plus porches and upstairs deck. Our "sister B&B Inn" is about 1/2 mile from the George Brooks House B&B. So if you want to be "in town", click on LEARN MORE below to go to the Parsonage Inn web site. Same ownership, great innkeeper and gourmet breakfasts.
